Buying Flowers? Support Local Florida Farmers

Shopping local is one of the most important things you can do to strengthen your community and support farms and small businesses. When it comes to fresh flowers, buying local is a great way to support a nearby business and ensure that your flowers will be as fresh as possible.

Fortunately, Florida boasts many amazing flower farms (some that let you pick your own) that transform any day into a special occasion—and a trip to a flower farm can become a romantic date for two, or a memorable weekend outing for the whole family.

We feature a few farms below that promise a beautiful experience!

Black Barn Blossoms

This family-owned specialty cut flowers boutique practices a no-till farming method that utilizes a mix of raised beds and permaculture, fertilizing organically to avoid the use of harsh chemicals. Every stem of seasonal flowers and greenery is seed blocked, transplanted, and harvested by hand. Among their many varieties are dahlias, zinnias, gladiolus, and lisianthus. Black Barn serves retail customers in the Florida panhandle and lower Alabama.

They offer custom arrangements, wood deco designs, and creative blending of these unique plants. Thousands of customers visit this farm every month, often surprised by the diverse selections they find.
