Give Handmade Florida Gifts This Season

To arts and crafts enthusiasts, this is the most wonderful shopping time of the year. Towns and cities all over Florida are putting on their best shows from now until Christmas, offering handmade gifts and home decor you can’t find anywhere else. 

Not only can shoppers look forward to finding those unique gifts for their friends and families, they will likely find something they just have to bring home for themselves. Make your visit to a local crafts fair a fun and memorable event: arrive early, enjoy the atmosphere, and take a lunch break at a food truck or open air diner onsite.

Attend These Florida Arts Festivals

Halifax Art Festival

November 6-7, 2021

Admission is free.

As many as 30,000 shoppers are expected for the 59th Halifax Art Festival, the second-oldest continual festival in Florida, featuring a blend of fine arts, crafts, music and food. Parking is free. 

The festival will feature juried local, regional, and national original works of art from more than 225 artists. Live music will be onsite both days, along with numerous outdoor restaurants. The festival is presented and produced by the Guild of the Museum of Arts & Sciences.

Fall Fiesta in the Park

Admission is free. 

As the largest annual event in Orlando, local police estimate that more than 250,00 people turn out for Fall Fiesta in the Park each year. Enjoy live entertainment, children’s activities, and good food between shopping with more than 300 arts and crafts vendors. This pet-friendly, juried art event takes place downtown around beautiful Lake Eola.

Maitland Rotary Art Festival: “Art Under the Stars”

As Maitland’s largest local event of the year, the Maitland Rotary Art Festival brings the community together as it continues to raise funds for local charities and nonprofits. A true celebration of the arts, participants can enjoy world-class fine art from more than 135 high-quality artists, great food, and live entertainment. This juried art show features art judges who award top exhibiting artists.

Emerald Coast Christmas Bazaar

Emerald Coast Christmas Bazaar, held at Boardwalk Beach and Convention Center, expects to draw 15,000 shoppers with offerings of custom crafts from around the globe, gourmet pastries, chocolates and nuts, home products, and more. The pet-friendly event will also feature children’s activities, great food and drinks, charity raffles and more.

Admission is $8 for adults and free for children 12 and under, and allows admittance for all three days.

Christmas Made in the South is a three-day event featuring hundreds of artists and crafts artisans you can meet and chat with, no matter the weather. Items you will likely see include pottery, glassblowing, personalized ornaments, totes, clothing, jewelry, floral arrangements, Christmas-themed works, an array of organic jewelry, wood turning, metal work, and fine art in watercolors, acrylics, and oils. 

Lower Keys Island Art Festival

The Lower Keys Island Art Festival continues to be supported by local artists and features unique island arts and crafts. Local musicians entertain guests, and food and beverages are available to shoppers. Raffles are also part of the fun. This festival lifts holiday spirits as it offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. 

“Art in the Park” Art and Fine Craft Show

The 26th Annual “Art In The Park” Art and Fine Craft Show returns to Stuart’s Memorial Park with as many as 80 local and traveling artists and exhibitors. The family-friendly event features new additions this year with holiday-themed kids activities and crafts, carols in the park, along with delicious food offerings. As always, a portion of the proceeds will be contributed to the United Way of Martin County’s “Character Counts!” program.
