Join In On the World’s Number One Sport

The hottest sport in the world is warming up nicely in the U.S., as teams, fans, talent, and enthusiasm among millennials continue to grow at a rapid pace. And Florida is proud to boast its share of teams at all levels around the state.

With two Major League Soccer teams, one National Women’s Soccer League club, and a dozen semi-pro teams all over the Sunshine State, there are more options than ever for fans and hopeful players to experience “the Beautiful Game.”

About the Florida Soccer Market

The phenomenal rate of expansion of pro teams nationwide has continued since the Major League Soccer League debuted in America with ten teams in 1996. Now boasting 27 active clubs, with more expected to be added by 2022, MLS’s rise has been unparalleled compared to that of other U.S. professional sports.

In Florida, the expansion of semi-pro teams in smaller markets has given more and more fans and young athletes plentiful opportunities to experience the games.

Among the many reasons for soccer’s growth in the U.S. is the fact that so many children have grown up playing the sport at all levels during the past decade that it has become a part of American culture, and one that continues to expand.

Other positive markers for the sport have been the continued increases in fan attendance (fueled in part by the addition of big-name players) and a rising Latino population in the U.S.

We’ve compiled a list of Florida’s professional and semi-pro soccer teams that ensure fans around the state plenty of opportunities to enjoy your favorite sport in your local communities.
