This is a sales position for the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies and its approved affiliates. Farm Bureau agents are captive agents and are independent contractors for the company. They are contracted to write and service insurance products that are approved by the company. The opportunities, incentives, and rewards for the successful agent are many. Below are lists of strengths that successful agents possess and also some of the duties and responsibilities of the position. Strengths • Ability to communicate effectively and relate well with people • Able to work with minimal supervision and be productive • Competitive drive • Motivated by incentives and recognition • Desire for long term business and individual growth Duties and Responsibilities • Service all clients assigned to you with regular reviews and availability when called upon. • Seek out and solicit new insurance clients and members • Abide by terms and conditions of the agent contract • Maintain acceptable levels of production in all lines • Meet or exceed company objectives • Attend regular agency/district/state sales and training meetings as required • Be available after catastrophes to assist in the claims process • Understand and abide by company underwriting guidelines and procedures • Put the needs of the clients above personal gain • Maintain the highest ethical standards • Work under the supervision of an Agency Manager and District Sales Manager Opportunities & Incentives • Competitive commissions • Low business overhead and expense in getting started • Many contests, trips, and bonus opportunities • Ability to grow your income through your individual efforts • Initial and ongoing training and support All agents contracted with the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies must pass a Professional Sales Agent profile examination, participate in an extensive interview process and hold an active Property and Casualty 2‐20 General Lines license. In addition, they must also hold a 215 or 218 Life Insurance license. Insurance or outside sales experience is desirable but not a requirement
