Donnie Odom graduated from Branford High School in 1977, attended Santa Fe Community College, married and moved to the Alachua area in 1981. He was a partner in a family farm operation until 1989, when he joined Farm Bureau Federation and served in many areas of leadership in the community.
Currently, he is in his third year as Board member of the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, is active in community youth activities, was named State Rookie of the Year in 1999 for the Florida Farm Bureau Insurance Companies, is a two time All-Star and Round Table winner for Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Top 5 Big Hitters for 1998.
